In our Center for Radiology, all modern examination and therapy procedures of radiology are available. In addition, we have modern, fully digital equipment with regard to the transmission of findings and image archiving.
As a Medical-Technical Radiology Assistant (m/f/d), or MTRA for short, you will support doctors in diagnostics and therapy. They operate large-scale technical equipment, e.g. computer tomographs, magnetic resonance tomographs, X-ray machines, linear accelerators and other imaging equipment in order to produce X-ray or cross-sectional images of the human body. Anyone who wants to take up this profession should have an interest in technology and people.
The training content is divided into a theoretical and practical phase.
The theory phase takes place at the Medical Vocational School at the Dresden Municipal Hospital. They are taught content such as how medical devices work, image processing, the anatomy of the human body and general education subjects. Approximately 2,800 hours are planned for theoretical and practical lessons in the training.
To ensure that nothing stands in the way of starting your training, it is important that you also apply to the Medical Vocational School at the Dresden Municipal Hospital at the same time. The application period is from September to April of each year. You can find more information on the school's website (www.medbfs.de).
You will complete the practical training of a total of 1,600 hours at the Helios Vogtland Clinic Plauen as well as in other clinics. The focus here is on the areas of radiological diagnostics and other imaging procedures, radiation therapy and nuclear medicine.
